The man, the myth, the legend. Gianluigi Buffon is all three. He's accomplished so much in his long career his list of achievements reads like a receipt with all of the unnecessary coupons attached to it.

At 40 years old, Buffon has given all he can give to the game, thrilling Italians and other soccer fans around the world with his unmatched instincts and acrobatic saves. It's time to hang up the cleats.

Buffon may have gotten older, but he hasn't gotten worse at soccer. As recently as 2017, the Italian legend won FIFA's Best Goalkeeper of 2017 and Serie A Footballer of the Year. He's still one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

As long as he can still win games, Buffon should keep fans happy by showing the skills that made him one of the best goaltenders of all time.
