While the United States enjoys the pigskin being flung around the field with football, the rest of the world watches burly rugby athletes go tackle and scrum with no pads. Football is the most popular sport for a reason: big hits and incredible displays of speed and coordination. Rugby is exciting to watch for the brutality of bodies knocking against one another without protection. What do you think? 🏈

Rugby is a game for brutes. Football is a game for athletes. Rugby is a game where you barrel down on opponents and hope for the best. There is more grace in football. Wide receivers show incredible body control contorting for catches almost like armored dancers. Then there's the precision passing from quarterbacks, finding open pockets among 11 defenders whose sole job is to stop you. And if you want brutal, there are the hard hits the NFL has become notorious for. Football is the better sport, and it's not even close.

Unlike football, there is no hiding behind pads in Rugby. Rugby is a sport that is just you and the other person in front of you. There is nothing protecting you. If you want to impose your will on another player, you alone need to make the move. Only simple-minded sports fans think rugby is brutish sport. Rugby is a game of constant movement, and there are no breaks to catch your breath. It is also a worldwide game that the whole planet enjoys. Football is really only played in North America. Rugby is far and away a better sport.
