It seems like every week Vontaze Burfict is getting in some sort of trouble with his play on the field. At this point, it can't be a coincidence he is in the headlines for a dirty hit.
His hit to the head and neck area of Sherman is just the latest example. He is a danger to himself and other players, and he won't learn anything if he's only fined or suspended two or three games. This five-game suspension is justified. Hopefully, it'll teach him a lesson.
Vontaze Burfict’s suspension is based on…1: Him hitting with his shoulder & helmet to Anthony Sherman’s head & neck area. 2: Repeat offender
Vontaze Burfict had his moments in the past, but this is a witch hunt. Burfict made a perfectly legal play within five yards of the line of scrimmage. It's not his fault Sherman didn't keep his head on a swivel.
Burfict's part in the play looks a lot worse than it really was. Handing him a five-game suspension for hitting a receiver in the chest with his shoulder is unfair and wrong. The league should reduce the suspension at least, but he really shouldn't be banned at all.
