Does Tim Tebow deserve to get called up?
When it comes to minor league ball, Low-A is about as easy as you can get. Real professionals should be blasting balls all over the field at this level. Tim Tebow has only managed to strike out 69 times in 64 games and drive in a meager 23 runs.
Tim Tebow bumps up to high-A St. Lucie because a .222/.311/.340 line by a 29-year-old LF is worthy of a promotion. pic.twitter.com/U1jshaixxV
Tim Tebow's latest fall up is a promotion based on business, not performance. Tebow is only getting promoted because he sells tickets and drives in revenue. If the Mets really wanted to an actual player, the organization has a full roster they could have chosen from who have had better years than Tebow.
The former Florida Gator quarterback fancies himself an athlete, but at this point in his career, he’s only a cash cow.
People act like baseball revolves entirely around Tim Tebow. Baseball organizations have other roster spots and draft picks to worry about as well. With new players to incorporate, Tebow’s promotion opens a roster spot the Columbia Fireflies need. Tebow is already 29 years old, so this quick promotion is nothing new.
Tim Tebow responding to those who say his promotion to class A is undeserved:
The St. Lucie Mets have only four outfielders on their current roster, with one on the seven-day disabled list. They need bodies in case something happens to one of their outfielders. This isn’t a special situation. The team needs Tebow the player, not Tebow the promoter.
Tim Tebow will get more than that promotion just wait. God has so much in store for him. #godlyman
