Does Team USA's hockey coach have the right to make players stand for the anthem?

Don't expect any of the players on Team USA's hockey team to join; coach John Tortorella has made it clear that anyone who sits during the anthem will have to sit through the whole game. Yes, Collin has a right to protest. The coach also has a right to play the team however he wants. If Tortorella wants to make this part of the criteria he uses to decide which players will take to the ice rink, then that will be the team's strategy.

This dynamic is completely unfair. The coach has all the power. Should a coach really have power over a players right of conscience?
