Does Kirk Cousins deserve to be one of the highest paid players in the NFL? | The Tylt
After failing to negotiate a long-term contract, Kirk Cousins was assigned the franchise tag for the second year in a row by the Washington Redskins. According to the team, Cousins balked at an offer that would have made him “at least the second highest paid player by average per year," after he threw for 9,083 yards, 54 touchdowns and 23 interceptions in two seasons. Those numbers are solid, but they don’t surpass the production of other elite quarterbacks. What do you think? 🏈

Aside from Tom Brady, and Matt Ryan, no other quarterback has been better than Kirk Cousins in terms of Total QBR. Cousins is an elite quarterback who carries the Washington Redskins. He cannot be blamed for their inability to win games or make it to the playoffs—the team's bottom of the barrel defense can shoulder the blame.
In his two seasons as a full-time starter, Cousins has put up numbers that any team would want in their quarterback. If anyone wants one of the best at the quarterback position in the league, they are going to have to pay up.
By Total QBR, Kirk Cousins is the 3rd-best QB in the NFL over the last 2 seasons behind only Tom Brady and Matt Ryan. pic.twitter.com/BGFcB3DndC

Kirk Cousins has been fawned over and worshiped like he is some sort of Tom Brady-level quarterback. Why? Cousins has been a good quarterback, but he is definitely not an elite one. It's comical Cousins thinks he should be paid like one.
Cousins did help the Redskins win the NFC East two seasons ago, but when it came to the playoffs, he couldn't get his team out of the Wild Card round. He hasn't shown he is a game-changing quarterback deserving of game-changing money. Don't get it twisted—Cousins is overrated.
Kirk cousins is the most hyped overrated player NFL everybody get fooled my his stats but the most he ever done is won 9 games nigga plz
