Did the Cleveland Browns make the right move by releasing Joe Haden?
As painful as it might be, cutting Joe Haden loose was the right move for the Cleveland Browns. Haden has been a model Cleveland representative, but he has lost a step the past couple years and is costing the team valuable cap space that can be used to develop younger players.
It would've been nice to get something back for Haden, but cutting him now saves the team money, and gives the cornerback the chance to play for a contender. This was the right move for both parties.
Sad to see Joe Haden go because of what he once was, but he hasn't been good for a while now and the cut was totally the right move. #Browns
You have a two-time Pro Bowl cornerback, and you couldn't get anything back in a trade? The Browns needed to do something to take Haden off the books, but cutting him reeks of incompetence.
Acquiring draft picks, an expiring contract or even cash would've been way better than letting Haden go without anything in return. The NFL is a business, and the Browns just made another terrible business decision by letting a Pro Bowl cornerback go with nothing to show for it.
I know it's a business but cutting Joe Haden seems overly bad. Dude was just good for Cleveland
