Is Jerry Jones killing the Dallas Cowboys?
Jerry Jones became a legend when he won three Super Bowl Championships in his first seven years of ownership. The current iteration of Jones is far cry from that.
This will mark the third time Jerry Jones has traded a first-round draft for a supposed franchise wide receiver. Despite making big trades for Roy Williams and Joey Galloway, the Cowboys owner failed to learn his lesson and traded out of the first round for an uncertain wide receiver.
For many fans, this is just another example of how America's Team has fallen so far from the top. He let Dez Bryant go for nothing, he dumped Tony Romo and now he's gambling away high draft picks. Jones is destroying the team.
People want to criticize Jerry Jones for all his moves, but at least he's doing something. Many teams are too scared to pull the trigger to improve their teams. At least he will take the plunge if he feels the team is getting better.
There isn't another wide receiver on the Dallas Cowboys better than Amari Cooper. No matter what anyone else says, Cooper makes the team a bigger threat on offense. Now, quarterback Dak Prescott has a dependable target down the field to exploit teams stacking the box on running back Ezekiel Elliott. Jones had the guts to make a move. He is what every owner in the NFL should be.
