Can LeBron James save the Cleveland Cavaliers?
Last year, the Cleveland Cavaliers played for an NBA championship. This season, they don't look like they'll make it out of the first round. The best teams in the NBA don't have to win every game in December and January, but they sure have to do better than losing seven out of their last 10 like the Cavaliers.
In that stretch, Cleveland has been the worst defensive team in the league with a roster filled with players over 30 years old. Veteran teams like this should have figured out their identity by now, but it looks like the Cavs won't be close to sniffing an NBA title this year.
To quote the great poet Aaron Rodgers, "R-E-L-A-X. Relax." The Cavaliers are going to be fine.
Every January since LeBron James returned to Cleveland, the Cavaliers go through a lull and everyone panics like the world ending. In 2015, LeBron James and head coach David Blatt were at odds with each other, and the team ended the season with an NBA Finals appearance. In 2016, the Cavaliers fired Blatt and replaced him with Tyronne Lue. The team would end up winning an NBA championship.
No matter how bad things look, Cleveland will figure things out. LeBron James is leading the team. Expect to see him and Cavs in the NBA Finals.
