Is chess a sport?

Chess exercises the most important muscle in the human body—the brain. It's a competitive game with a player ranking system, a code of conduct and rules of play that are recognized across the world. If video games are considered a sport, so should chess. However, it requires no real hand-eye-coordination or movement really. You literally just think. Computers are better at the game than we are! That alone leads many to disqualify chess as a sport. What do you think? ♛

The only way you can make chess a sport by adding an actual sport, like boxing.

Chessboxing is a real thing, by the way. Opponents can win by getting a checkmate in one-minute rounds of chess play, or by knocking out their opponent in three-minute rounds of boxing. Now, THIS is a sport!
