Better fans: Los Angeles Lakers or Boston Celtics?
When you go to the Staples Center for a Lakers game, looking around the arena is like a who's who, comparable to a movie premier. You might see Denzel Washington. Justin Bieber might make an appearance. Rihanna might be at the game. And Jack Nicholson can be found in his usual spot courtside. If you want the coolest fans in the world, look no further than the Los Angeles Lakers.
Aside from the celebrities, fans are just as passionate as any around the NBA. You might see them at the Staples Center (curse you, ticket prices!), but driving around the city, you see nothing but purple and gold, and at least one fan raving about everything from Showtime to Kobe Bryant. They might not be as rough and tumble like those green people over in Boston, but Los Angeles has a great fan base that encompasses everyone from movies stars to blue-collar workers.
Those fair-weathered freaks over in Los Angeles think they have better fans than the Boston Celtics? When have you seen a Lakers fan brave bad weather to watch a game, or stick by the team when things were rough? They don't know what it means to be a real fan. Boston Celtics fans do.
The Lakers can have their celebrities, who are only at games to be seen and get attention. The Celtics have fans who actually follow the team, and have a stake in their success. And if you want celebrities, the Celtics have some of the best fans in Mark Walhberg and Matt Damon. Lakers "fans" are only about doing what's trendy. Ask them a real question about their team, and they throw around "Kobe" and "Showtime" like they think they're experts. Boston fans know the team inside and out, and will represent no matter how the team is doing. Celtics fans are the best.
