Having the ability to dominate a sport gives players a lot of confidence. Michael Jordan's greatness gave him so much confidence he was able to psychologically gain an advantage against opponents. Sometimes, he'd let you know how he was going to pick you apart. Other times, he let his game do the talking for him.
In either case, Jordan not only devastated you, he let you know about it afterward.
Former Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller admonished Michael Jordan for dunking on the shorter John Stockton. A couple of plays later, he took the challenge to heart. It did not end well for Mel Turpin or the Jazz.
Reggie Miller would never outrun you, or out jump you. However, he would out talk you. Miller may have had a sweet jumper, but he had a filthy mouth he wasn't afraid to use. There was never a game where you didn't see Miller jawing with players or even fans to get him pumped up for games.
