When it comes to Alabama, it's all about football and barbecue. You get the best of both worlds at an Alabama Crimson Tide tailgate. The tailgate has basically become a pregame celebration of the Crimson Tide's impending victory, and the fans party like it. That's what happens when your team wins five national championships in 10 years. Here is Chris Fuhrmeister of SB Nation with more:

"Walking the main streets on either side of Bryant-Denny Stadium, you'll see people tailgating pretty much everywhere," said Slice of Life, one of two managing editors at SB Nation Tide site Roll 'Bama Roll. "There is a concentration though on The Quad, which would be the 'hot spot' you're looking for. Lots of barbecue, as you might would expect. There are a couple of sponsored tents on The Quad, where you can get some good barbecue. Outside of that, it's pretty standard fare. Lots of beer and your typical tailgate food."
Barbecue plays a big role in Tuscaloosa tailgating, and it's no surprise that it's a major part of the restaurant culture, too. This is Alabama, after all, about as deep as Deep South gets and a state where few things -- maybe just football -- are celebrated as much as slow-smoked pork.

Auburn has its best shot at a College Football Playoff spot, and that takes Auburn's tailgate to a whole new level. Fans showed up in droves when the team wasn't doing well. Now with the program close to playing for an SEC Championship, they are coming out in full force to take part in food and family. The Tigers' tailgate is one of the friendlier pregame gatherings in the conference, and the Tiger Walk is a can't miss event. Here is Lee Thompson, a recent Auburn alum, talking to Sports Illustrated:

Right by the stadium is an entire field set up with events for fans of all ages. Theres face painting, bounce houses, autograph sessions and more. Tons of vendors set up offering anything from a free meal or chance to win a new car. There is often a booth set up with former Auburn players that allow you to interact with them, take pictures, and get autographs.
