The 2017 Iron Bowl is already one of the most heated rivalries in all of college football. Alabama and Auburn are two of the most successful football programs in the history of the sport. Throw in an SEC West Division title and playoff spot in the mix, and you have a recipe for what may be the most explosive game of the season. Who survives this year's annual blood bath?

What can you say about the Alabama Crimson Tide? The team came into this season the No. 1 team in the AP Poll, and have rolled through its opponents for another year. Alabama heads into the Iron Bowl undefeated, including an easy 56-0 victory over Mercer last week. Quarterback Jalen Hurts went 7-for-7 for 180 yards, with three of those passes being touchdowns. Things won't be so easy against Auburn, but there's hope. With Hurts beating teams with his arm as well as his legs, Auburn will have a tough time stopping him. Expect the Crimson Tide to roll to a SEC West title and a berth in the SEC Championship.

Auburn hasn't won against Alabama since 2013 when the miraculous "Kick Six" missed field goal attempt return for touchdown propelled them to the win. That losing streak ends this year. There is something different about this Tigers team. They finally have an effective, balanced offense to complement its stout defense. The Tigers are gaining 476 yards per game behind running back Kerryon Johnson and quarterback Jarrett Stidham. Their defense is only allowing 16.6 points per game, and shut down teams like Georgia and Mississippi State. This is Auburn's year. It will take the Iron Bowl, and the hearts of millions of Alabama fans in the process.
