Will Republicans succeed in passing their new health care bill?
President Trump traveled to Capitol Hill to threaten Republicans who are thinking of voting against the bill. Though the president's approval ratings are low, he retains strong support with many Republican voters and representatives fear the wrath of his supporters in their districts if they are seen as crossing him.
According to The Washington Post, Trump told the divided Republican conference meeting, “I’m gonna come after you, but I know I won’t have to, because I know you’ll vote yes.”
Others say there's simply no way AHCA will pass. Voting for a bill that strips millions Americans of healthcare could be career suicide for members of the Republican Party.
So many conservatives detest the bill, and are enraged that this is what Paul Ryan and House leaders have come up with after seven years of raging against Obamacare. Many Republicans just don't think the government has any business in healthcare at all.
But others say Republicans need to stick together and get this bill passed. The consequences of not passing it are too great.
