Will a Biden/Klobuchar ticket defeat President Trump? | The Tylt
Senator Amy Klobuchar is reportedly being vetted to join Joe Biden's campaign as vice president. Picking Klobuchar would be making an overture to conservative independent voters and more moderate Republicans who have split from President Trump. With Klobuchar, the Biden campaign is betting that they will be able to reduce Trump's margins in swing states. Trump won by incredibly thin margins. Attacking him on the margins could theoretically be the winning move. However, some Democrats worry that a Biden/Klobuchar ticket is rehashing 2016—Hillary Clinton's campaign tried a similar tactic and fell short.

Some see Klobuchar as a level-headed pick that would round out Joe Biden. She's shown she's a capable debater and her record speaks for itself.
Klobuchar's critics say picking her as vice president would be repeating the mistakes of 2016. She would be an uninspiring vice president who would not likely spur people to come out in the huge numbers Democrats want. Assuming that people will vote out Trump is no excuse to run a bad campaign.
