Who would you prefer as president: Donald Trump or Mike Pence? | The Tylt
For many people, Vice President Mike Pence would be a breath of fresh air as a replacement for President Donald Trump. The United States is facing one of the biggest crises in its history with the coronavirus. In the worst-case scenario, more than 2.2 million Americans could die if we do not take sustained radical actions to prevent the spread of the virus and its impact on our medical system. President Trump's behavior has been erratic, combative and he often contradicts medical and public health professionals. He is not the person you want in charge during a crisis. Mike Pence not only supports Trump and his policies, but he's shown that he's capable of basic humanity and leadership in ways that Trump lacks.
However, Trump's supporters would argue that the previous characterization of Trump's behavior as clear signs of an irrational bias against the President. In other words, it's another iteration of "orange man bad," a meme used to make fun of the liberal fixation on Trump and its knee-jerk disapproval. In their eyes, Trump is doing a great job—and he's acting in exactly the way voters want him to. He's a straight talker and is willing to speak what's on his mind.
