Speculation is already brewing about who should be the Democratic nominee for president in 2020. After a strong showing in the 2016 primary, Bernie Sanders maintains a loyal, vocal following. But others say Bernie's not a Democrat, and it's time for some fresh faceslike Senator Kamala Harris (D-CA). Harris was California's first female Attorney General and is just the second female African-American Senator in history. Are you Team Bernie or Team Kamala? 👴🏼 👩🏾

Many Sanders fans say he would be unbeatable, especially in a face-off against Trump. And much like 2016, his supporters warn that nominating an establishment candidate will doom the party.

But others point out Bernie already tried and failed to clinch the Democratic nation in 2016, and do not believe tapping a pioneering mixed-race female attorney and senator a member of the "establishment" will stick.

But strident Sanders supporters like Nomiki Konst and RoseAnn DeMoro "remain highly skeptical of Harris’s progressive bona fides." They maintain that Bernie is the only candidate truly committed to standing up to corporate hegemony and fighting quality.

“She is the preferred candidate of extremely wealthy and out-of-touch Democratic party donors,” said Winnie Wong, co-founder of the group People for Bernie, which played a prominent role the grassroots movement behind Sanders in 2016.

Others argue Sanders has support and trust issues of his own, especially among Black voters who form the base of the Democratic Party. At the Root, Terrell Jermaine Starr states "if Sen. Kamala Harris runs, I have a hard time believing that Sanders or any other candidate will take black female votes from her."

There’s no way Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) should be considered the Democratic Party’s 2020 front-runner.A vast majority of Democratic primary voters backed Hillary Clinton by millions of votes. Like it or not, there are many people who aren’t sold on Sanders’ political revolution.

Kamala fans think Bernie needs to pack it in.

Others are unimpressed by Harris.
