Who's winning the real-life feud between Susan Sarandon and Debra Messing? | The Tylt
Susan Sarandon and Debra Messing have been locked in a year-long political feud, but Sarandon just threw gas on the fire by comparing Messing to Donald Trump. The beef began in 2016 when Sarandon—a Bernie Sanders surrogate—told Chris Hayes that Trump's election would "bring the revolution immediately." Messing, who supports Hillary, tweeted that supporting Trump over Hillary Clinton was "insane," and it just devolved from there. Whose side are you on?

You can actually hear the audience gasp when Sarandon tells Andy Cohen that Messing is "Trumpian." 😮 🔥
Sarandon was, and is, a long-time political activist—as well as a fervent Bernie Sanders supporter and campaign surrogate. When Sarandon said Hillary Clinton might be "more dangerous" than Donald Trump, it created an uproar. But many others agreed with her, and applauded Sarandon for speaking out against Clinton and the Democratic establishment.
"There’s never been a candidate, nor will there ever be a candidate in my lifetime, who hasn’t taken money from Wall Street, from super PACs, from Monsanto, from fracking, and I want someone with that moral commitment to people.”
But Messing spoke for many when she said that Sarandon's privilege allowed her to be cavalier about the idea of a Trump presidency. "Wonder if she'd say that if she were poor, gay, Muslim or [an immigrant]," Messing tweeted in response to Sarandon.
Messing also took issue with Sarandon's comments about Trump bringing the revolution ("What kind of revolution?!" Messing asked). The "Will & Grace" star said she would happily vote for whoever won the Democratic nomination and urged Sarandon to do the same.
The wounds from the Democratic primary still run deep for many, and Sarandon's fans say she should should keep speaking out.

Others (some Clinton fans, some not) always found Sarandon's assertion that Clinton is worse than Trump to be both ignorant and dangerous, and are surprised that now that Trump won, she keeps doubling down.
The fact that Susan Sarandon said Trump is the "lesser of two evils" ends the debate of who is less informed. https://t.co/1cpXHDblkf

Others call Sarandon clueless, and think she needs to have a seat.
This made me laugh out loud. Susan Sarandon is one of the most uninformed, privileged, trainwreck on earth. https://t.co/7aRXxzHIPw
