Should the U.S. take in more Syrian refugees? | The Tylt
The U.S. launched a missile strike against the Assad regime in Syria after its government carried out a deadly chemical attack on civilians. Critics say bombing isn't enough—if we really want to address the humanitarian crisis, we should take in more Syrian refugees. But the Trump administration has only allowed 11 Syrian refugees into the country this year and immigration hardliners argue taking in refugees make us vulnerable to terrorism. What do you think?

President Trump said of Assad's suspected chemical weapons attack against civilians, "This is about humanity, and it cannot be allowed to happen." But critics have pointed out the Trump administration has only allowed 11 Syrian refugees into the country this year. If Trump really cares about the humanitarian crisis in Syria, he should let in more refugees.
If President Trump wants to address the humanitarian catastrophe that is the Syrian civil war, he should fulfill our obligation to accept refugees. We have admitted only ELEVEN Syrian refugees this year. Completely unacceptable!

In 2016, the United States accepted more than 15,000 Syrian refugees. More than four months into 2018, we’ve accepted just 11 refugees. The United States must open its arms to those who have experienced the unspeakable horrors of the Syrian civil war. pic.twitter.com/rFlzWVCQuL

If you support bombing Syria but won't welcome refugees from there, shame on you.

What is the point of the great experiment known as America if we cannot open our doors to families who are fleeing horrific suffering and violence? Oxfam America has called upon President Trump and the U.S. government to lift the ban on Syrian refugees.
We bombed Syria and hurt the people of Syria BECAUSE the Syrian government hurt the people of Syria, and then we don’t accept any refugees from Syria after we bomb their home.

What is wrong with our president?
But others, like David French of the National Review, argue that we cannot allow sympathy for refugees to blind us to the dangers they might pose to U.S. citizens. Muslim immigrants pose unique, terroristic threats that can't be ignored.
President Trump criticized Obama and Clinton for their approaches to the Syrian refugee crisis.
Crooked Hillary wants a radical 500% increase in Syrian refugees. We can’t allow this. Time to get smart and protect America!

Refugees from Syria are now pouring into our great country. Who knows who they are - some could be ISIS. Is our president insane?

And millions of Americans are vehemently opposed to letting more immigrants in, even if they are fleeing civil war.

Others think we just need to implement solutions that make these unstable nations safer, rather than taking in millions of people.
bringing in refugees by the droves is not the answer. Fix the problem at it's source. Destroying Assad's oppressive regime=no more refugees.
