Was Tomi Lahren's flag costume disrespectful? | The Tylt
Right-wing pundit Tomi Lahren donned an American flag Halloween costume to inflame liberals: "Get ready to find your safe spaces!" she wrote on Instagram. "If you’re a conservative, I’m American AF. If you’re a lib, I’m 'offensive.' " Critics said her costume violates U.S. code that specifies how the flag should be displayed: "No part of the flag should ever be used as a costume or athletic uniform." But her fans loved the outfit and her trolling of left-wingers. What do you think? 🇺🇸

Tomi anticipated and perhaps even courted the controversy with her Instagram post, writing that conservatives would applaud her costume and liberals would be triggered by it.
Lahren has blasted NFL athletes for kneeling during the national anthem to protest police brutality in America, and insists that their demonstration disrespects the flag. During a recent appearance on "Fox & Friends," she said:
“I would like to ask these players ‘What exactly are you kneeling for and why have you chosen the flag and the anthem to do it?’ […] “I would like to ask those same players, ‘What would it take to get you to stand and respect the anthem?’”
Twitter called Lahren a huge hypocrite. How would she react if Colin Kaepernick arrived on the field wearing the flag as a cape?
"She demands respect for the flag but then butchers it for a costume."
Lahren defended her costume as being perfectly within legal standards for how to treat the flag.

It's not a flag she is wearing, it's a red white and blue costume, with stars and stripes, not a flag#knowthedifference

Others called bullshit on her claim.
