Should President Trump delete his Twitter account? | The Tylt
No other politician has weaponized Twitter like President Trump. The 45th U.S. president even said, "I think that maybe I wouldn't be here if it wasn't for Twitter." Some argue his tweets violate democratic norms and could actually threaten national security. But his supporters say Twitter lets him circumvent a dishonest media to engage directly with the American public. What do you think?📱
Should President Trump delete his Twitter account?
Doesn't the president have the right to free speech as well? Many argue Twitter actually handed Trump the presidency.
Twitter has allowed President Trump to dominate the political conversation and news cycle, from the primaries until now. Why would he give something up that has been such an effective tool for him?
Only the Fake News Media and Trump enemies want me to stop using Social Media (110 million people). Only way for me to get the truth out!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 1, 2017
Others argue his Twitter rants have dangerous implications and could do damage on a global scale. At Slate, Jennifer Grygiel is demanding Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey intervene:
What if he loses his temper and says something that is perceived as a military threat, even if he just intends it as empty bombast? Or what if someone hacked his account and tweeted that we were about to, say, bomb an ally? We already know that Trump’s tweets can move financial markets. Do we really want to find out if they can scramble fighter jets?

Please delete Trump's account before he has time to respond to North Korea.
The hypothetical future of humanity
Some say Trump is using his platform for targeted harassment and bullying, and it's time for his campaign of Twitter terror to end.
Others applaud the president's tweets. They see all of these tweets as a necessary tactic in a war with the media.
