Some Republicans are walking back their "repeal and replace" approach towards Obamacare as protests continue to mount against their crusade. Polls suggest broader support for the legislation than the politicians initially thought. Many Americans argue Obamacare should be fixed rather than torn down. Despite this, some hardliners think Obamacare is too broken to be fixed, and should be repealed as soon as possible to give American citizens relief. What do you think?

The reality is if Obamacare is repealed without a replacement ready to go, millions of Americans would lose their health insurance and not be able to get it. People like what Obamacare provides, but they dislike the idea of Obamacare. Its supporters argue it is unconscionable to throw people off their insurance to score some political points. People will die.

The push-back started when polls showed that many of those who said they hated "Obamacare" actually liked key pieces of it. The term was toxic, but not the policies. They liked to keep their kids on their plans until the age of 26. They liked the rule forcing insurers to sell coverage to people with cancer, diabetes and other pre-existing conditions. They liked the lifetime limit on out-of-pocket costs.

Some conservatives think healthcare should be treated as a commodity that's bought and sold without government interference. Adding government to the equation only makes things more inefficient and more expensive. The reason why insurance and healthcare is so messed up today is precisely because government got in the way and messed things up.

We don’t need anything else. For many, many, many years healthcare was a function of a relationship between a provider and the patient. It was not until government got involved that prices began to skyrocket. This is an indisputable fact – that anywhere government sticks it’s nose, services become more expensive. You may not see that expense, as in getting cheaper electric cars because of subsidies but on the back end those cars become exponentially more expensive to produce and that cost ends up being passed to you as the taxpayer anyway. In effect, you fund your own subsidies.
Replacing Obamacare capitulates to the idea that government has to have a place in every aspect of our lives. Healthcare is something we can manage on our own if we could be free to pursue competitive and personal options. Private charities have always been available to help needy families with their health needs. How many more of those would we have if more Americans had more of their own earned income in their pockets?
