Attorney General Jeff Sessions stands accused of lying under oath to Congress. During his confirmation hearings, he denied any communications with Russian contacts. In fact, he met with the Russian ambassador twice during the presidential campaign. Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle say Sessions must recuse himself from investigating the Trump campaign's ties to Russia. But Sessions and the White House deny any wrongdoing on his part. Should Jeff Sessions recuse himself? ⚖️

Lawmakers from both sides of the aisle are calling for Sessions to recuse himself. Critics demand that a special counsel investigate Russia’s alleged role in the 2016 presidential election.
So far, Sessions denies any wrongdoing, and the White House claims these revelations are "the latest attack against the Trump administration by partisan Democrats."
But Democrats aren't the only ones calling for Sessions to recuse himself.
Even Jason Chaffetz recently got on board the recuse train.

And some people—including Nancy Pelosi—don't think Sessions recusing himself is going nearly far enough. They want him to resign and face charges for lying to Congress.

Sessions continues to say that his statement to Congress was not false and that his meetings with the Russian Ambassador were benign.
