Should Attorney General Jeff Sessions resign? | The Tylt
Jeff Sessions was one of Donalds Trump's earliest and most ardent supporters. But in a recent New York Times interview, the president revealed outrage toward his attorney general. Trump claims he would never have hired the former Alabama senator had he known Sessions would recuse himself from the Russia investigation, and called his recusal "extremely unfair." Many Republicans sprang to Sessions' defense, but others say he has lost the confidence of the president and should resign. What do you think?

Many Trump supporters agree Sessions' decision to recuse himself from the Russia investigation betrayed the president and his agenda. They say he should resign or be fired.
Trump is right. Jeff Sessions should not have recused himself from the Russia investigation. It only helped those trying to overthrow @POTUS

Some think Sessions needs to go if only to show he has a spine. Why stick around at a job when your boss has told the nation he wishes he hadn't hired you?
@jeffsessions how can you still work for the guy? Have a little pride!

Trump's supporters blame Sessions for letting a special counsel investigation happen.
Jeff Sessions is 100% to blame for this out-of-control Robert Mueller investigation.

Others, including many in Congress, stood up for the former senator.
@jeffsessions - don't let him bully you!! You are a better , nobler man than he will ever be!

@RealDonaldTrump No one in America can match the excellence of @JeffSessions as Attorney General. Trump agenda would be crippled w\o him.

Folks on both the left and right were aghast that a sitting president would openly trash the head of the Department of Justice—an attorney general who he himself appointed and has been in his corner from the beginning—to the media. They say Sessions did not deserve to be thrown under the bus like this.
"No one was more loyal than Sessions. No one," a White House official said, speaking confidentially to avoid drawing the President's ire.
