Should AG Lynch recuse herself? | The Tylt
Attorney General Loretta Lynch said she will accept the FBI's recommendations on the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails. The statement comes after an unannounced meeting between Lynch and Bill Clinton at the Phoenix airport. AG Lynch says it was merely a social call.
We can all agree the visit was a horrible, horrible, stupid idea. As a result of it though, should Attorney General Lynch recuse herself from the Clinton email case?
The meeting has called into question whether AG Lynch can remain impartial. Conservatives are calling for Lynch to recuse herself and renewed calls for a special counsel to oversee the case. Donald Trump has referred to the meeting as another example of how the system is rigged for political insiders.
In AG Lynch’s defense, it does seem like a coincidental and innocent meeting. The two happened to be at the same airport and Bill decided to step in to say hello. It may not have been the greatest idea. AG Lynch admits to this. Small mistakes happen and perhaps we shouldn't read into this. Besides, Bill Clinton doesn't exactly set the standard for self-control.
AG Lynch has gone on record to say that she will accept whatever the FBI recommends. What more can she do?
Do you think AG Lynch should recuse herself?

He was a good president but we're not exactly talking about Captain Self-Control here.— Matthew Yglesias (@mattyglesias) July 1, 2016
The people who are creating this thingy with Loretta Lynch are measuring their lack of integrity vs hers. Her integrity impeachable.— RhysTay4Hillary (@iRhysTay) July 1, 2016
Loretta Lynch is admirable. But she needs to be removed from any case involving a Clinton! This is an obvious conflict of interest.— Amir A. (@amiraminiMD) June 30, 2016
