Was President Trump right to fire Rex Tillerson? | The Tylt
In a morning tweet, President Trump announced Mike Pompeo would replace Rex Tillerson as Secretary of State. The announcement came as a surprise to many, especially given Trump's recent announcement that he would meet with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un. Some believe it was long overdue, Tillerson and Trump have butt heads in the past. But others feel Tillerson was a voice of reason in the Trump administration, and his departure is a bad thing. What do you think?
Was President Trump right to fire Rex Tillerson?
Mike Pompeo, Director of the CIA, will become our new Secretary of State. He will do a fantastic job! Thank you to Rex Tillerson for his service! Gina Haspel will become the new Director of the CIA, and the first woman so chosen. Congratulations to all!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) March 13, 2018
Rex Tillerson was unqualified, ineffective, and complicit. He will go down as one of the worst Secretaries of State in history.— Kaivan Shroff (@KaivanShroff) March 13, 2018
Meanwhile, Hillary visited 112 countries as Secretary of State (the most in history) and helped Obama restore America’s reputation abroad post-Bush.

Rex Tillerson has just been fired.
Note: Just yesterday Tillerson claimed that there would be a strong response to Russia's poisoning of British citizens, countering the narrative coming from the White House.
What’s bonkers is that when Rex Tillerson was nominated, we all worried the oil and gas executive with making money as his top priority would be too greedy and reckless and the worst extreme of the Trump Administration.— Sally Kohn (@sallykohn) March 13, 2018
But he was the relatively sensible moderate one?!?
