Are you proud to be an American? | The Tylt
Donald Trump promised to "Make America Great Again," but a lot of Americans are no longer proud of their country. From the Muslim ban to the separation of families at the border to the increase in white nationalism, many are mourning the loss of America this Fourth of July. But others argue we should still be proud to be Americans. We are the country that elected Barack Obama and the Resistance continues to fight the Trump administration every step of the way. Are you proud to be an American? 🇺🇸

A USA Today poll found that American pride was directly linked to one's political party, though a majority of Americans still say they're proud.
America has a complicated history...
The rise of white nationalism and hate has caused many to rethink the America they once loved. Is this really who we are?
Many people are having trouble celebrating the Fourth of July given the current state of our country.
I used to be a proud American; heck, I *used* to be a proud native Texan.

But even Trump's biggest critics are still proud to be Americans. Hundreds of thousands of people came out to march in Families Belong Together rallies across the country.

Our politics seem more polarized than ever, but at the end of the day, we are still a country full of amazing people.
There are so many amazing, humble, hard-working people in this country. Being able to visit communities with whom I wasn’t the least bit in-touch has been vital to my learning process. Even though our politics have been increasingly disheartening, I’m so proud to be an American.
