Can the Green Party's Jill Stein capture Bernie's supporters?

Bernie Sanders finally endorsed Hillary Clinton Tuesday and urged his followers to vote for her. While most Democrats heaved a sigh of relief, many Bernie supporters were furious, and think Sanders sold their revolution out.

Enter the Green Party's presidential candidate Jill Stein, who unleashed a scathing torrent of tweets pledging that the revolution would continue, with or without Bernie. "If you don't want to vote for a warmonger or racist billionaire, there are more options. The political revolution will keep going," she wrote.

Can Jill Stein rally disaffected Sanders supporters to her side?

Many of Bernie's biggest supporters have sworn they will never vote for Hillary, and Stein is playing to that: "I call on the millions inspired by Bernie's call for political revolution to reject the self-defeating strategy of voting for the lesser evil," she tweeted yesterday. Columnist HA Goodman claims that Sanders' endorsement of Clinton "just made Jill Stein the most powerful woman in American politics." The "Bernie or Bust" movement is intensely purist, and Stein's credentials as an environmentalist and outsider candidate could win them over.

On the other hand, not all Sanders supporters believe Clinton is evil, and are willing to vote for Hillary. Lots of leftists are worried that voting for a third-party candidate like Stein means handing the presidency to Donald Trump. Stein has never held elected office, and some of her more controversial positions – being anti-vaccinations and supporting Brexit  – are not acceptable to progressives. And frankly, many people find Stein's play for Sanders supporters opportunistic and annoying.
