Wealth inequality was the focus of Sen. Bernie Sanders' presidential campaign, and he hasn't wavered in his dedication, calling income inequality is the "issue of our time."

Today, we live in the richest country in the history of the world, but that reality means little because much of that wealth is controlled by a tiny handful of individuals. The issue of wealth and income inequality is the great moral issue of our time, it is the great economic issue of our time, and it is the great political issue of our time.

It is absurd that the richest country in the world has such a staggering gap between rich and poor, and if our politicians don't do something soon, it will only get worse. Voters should demand their legislators address the problem of income equality in 2018. There is simply no reason the rich ought to get richer if the poor continue to suffer.

Since the Parkland shooting that left 17 dead, many Americans have had enough with inaction and are demanding their representatives make gun control their top priority.

Unlike other mass shootings, Parkland has remained in the news because of survivors’ persistent activism and organizing. So in the wake of the March for Our Lives, it’s worth asking: Is the shift sticking? Has the Parkland shooting, and the remarkable activism undertaken by Parkland high schoolers in its aftermath, meaningfully and permanently changed the debate on gun control?

It's just too easy to get a gun in the U.S. and voters are tired of empty promises. A ton of companies have stopped doing business with the NRA, and the usual talking points don't seem to be as effective as they once were. It's clear that gun control is the defining issue of 2018.
