The first ever African-American First Lady, Michelle Obama made history in more ways than one. Born and raised on the South Side of Chicago, Michelle is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Law School. She spent her early legal career working at a law firm before becoming the Associate Dean of Student Services at the University of Chicago and Vice President for Community and External Affairs of the University of Chicago Medical Center.

As First Lady, Michelle supported a number of causes which included advocating for military families, promoting healthy eating among children and encouraging young girls to pursue education. In addition to giving inspiring campaign speeches and leaving the White House with a higher approval rating than her husband, Michelle was also a fashion icon who propelled many designers into the limelight.

Long before she ran for president, Hillary Rodham Clinton was one of the most accomplished First Ladies in American history. Born and raised in a suburb outside Chicago, Hillary is a graduate of Wellesley College and Yale Law School. While in law school, Hillary worked for the Children's Defense Fund. She then became the first female partner at the Rose Law Firm and First Lady of Arkansas when her husband became governor.

As First Lady of the United States, Hillary focused primarily on health care reform and issues effecting children and families. After leaving the White House, Hillary served as a New York Senator and Secretary of State. She ran for president in both 2008 and 2016. While Hillary has long been a controversial figure, she is beloved by many—snagging the Most Admired Woman title 22 times—and is viewed as a role model for women in politics.

Even Trump admitted, "She doesn't quit. She doesn't give up... She's a fighter."

It's no surprise Hillary is viewed by many as the epitome of a strong, independent woman.
