Should John Kasich leave the Republican Party? | The Tylt
The Mr. Nice Guy of the 2016 Republican primary, John Kasich, won many fans on both the left and right for his consistent opposition to President Trump and his principled stance on issues like healthcare. After months of public spats with his own party, Kasich is now floating the idea of leaving the GOP altogether. Some believe he needs to go due to his lack of loyalty to party and president, but others think it would be a huge mistake for Republicans to lose a sensible moderate. What do you think? 🐘

In a recent CNN interview, 2016 presidential candidate and Ohio Gov. John Kasich said he may leave the Republican Party if it "can't be fixed."
Many have encouraged Kasich to run for president in 2020 and challenge President Trump. They believe Kasich is the last hope for the Republican Party.
Mr @JohnKasich, just saw your refreshingly candid non-bs filled conversation with @jaketapper. I IMPLORE you to rerun for POTUS in 2020.

If a Republican is to be President, Kasich should be the guy.

Soon there will be NO honorable, decent human beings left in GOP! Instead left to despicable Trump and his legions of idiots!

Some believe Kasich leaving the GOP could send a strong statement to Republicans about the direction the party is headed.
@JohnKasich - you all have the power to reject the direction the @GOP is heading. Quit normalizing the craziness.

But others are frustrated by Kasich's constant lack of loyalty to his party and to President Trump.
John Kasich wants out of the GOP? Great! Take the rest of the cucks with you! https://t.co/jCOeZYcLiC

And many on the left believe Kasich has been romanticized due to his opposition to Trump. In reality, he has little in common with Democrats, and should probably just stick with the GOP.
Well, the Democrats don't want you. Where are you going to go?
