Former FBI Director James Comey was shouted down by protesters for nearly 5 minutes as he gave his opening convocation speech to Howard University. While Comey has been lionized in the press for his damning testimony regarding President Trump, many believe we shouldn't overlook Comey's controversial tenure at the FBI, especially concerning police brutality against people of color.
Comey was seen as very much pro-police when he was top cop, including his supportive stance on the so-called “Ferguson effect,” which theorized that violent crime was on the rise in the U.S. because of more scrutiny on the police in light of protests against police brutality.
But others feel the protesters are misguided in their outrage. Comey pledged to give his $100,000 Howard salary back to the students in the form of scholarships and might just be the person who ultimately brings down President Trump.
This is so very ignorant. What the hell are they protesting, and yes I am a Bison! @Bison4Life
