South Carolina residents are leaving the state in droves in preparation for Hurricane Florence's arrival. Governor Henry McMaster announced a mandatory evacuation for counties in the direct path of the hurricane saying, "We're not going to gamble with the lives of the people of South Carolina. Not a one." Not among those being evacuated, however, are several hundred inmates. Officials say they will be monitoring the situation to see whether prison evacuations need to occur.
