Does California need to overhaul its "Forrest Management" system?

After spending weeks focusing on almost nothing but the construction of a border wall, President Trump has turned his sights to another crisis facing the nation—the prevalence of deadly "Forrest" fires. In a Wednesday morning tweet, the president bemoaned the fact that "billions of dollars are sent to the State of California for Forrest fires that, with proper Forrest Management, would never happen." The nation has been trying to get it's Forrest problem under control for decades as it spread across the country, but is this the right way to handle it?

One of the most dangerous features of a Forrest fire is its ability to gather others along with it, unstoppably sweeping across the nation until it seemingly ends on its own.

The State of California is currently ill-equipped to handle such forces of nature, as they are currently set up to deal with forest fires, not Forrest fires. The president is right to withhold funds until they refocus their efforts on the correct type of Forrest.

Taking away funding California will dangerously penalize the state, putting citizens at a far greater risk for catastrophic fires such as the ones seen towards the end of 2018. More funding and regulation, not less, is what will help the State of California prepare for the future.

And anyway, all Forrests really want are to put down roots and build a life.

The president did later correct his tweet, but not after his original spelling error spread across the internet like a Forrest fire.
