President Trump received 2017's "Pro-Life Person of the Year" award from Operation Rescue. Pro-lifers say Trump deserved the award for many reasons, most notably for appointing pro-life conservative Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court. Critics say Trump may be anti-abortion, but he's not pro-life. They argue because he withdrew from the Paris Accords, won't act on gun control, and is threatening nuclear war, he endangers millions of lives. What do you think?

Operation Rescue says President Trump has accomplished more for the pro-life agenda "than any other president."

“He has proven to be the most pro-life president we have had in modern history and has backed up his pro-life rhetoric with action like no other before him,” said Operation Rescue President Troy Newman.

Critics say Trump is like his fellow pro-lifershe cares a lot about the unborn fetus but does little to preserve or protect the lives of those who have already been born. What about the millions of children who may lose their health insurance, the vulnerable populations that will be most affected by climate change, or poor women who don't want or can't afford to have a child?

For many conservatives, the chance to select a president who would nominate a pro-life judge was of paramount importance. The Republican Party has divisions, but its various factions are united behind the goal of putting conservative judges on the bench who could overturn "Roe v. Wade." While getting Gorsuch on the court was the biggest victory, the National Review pointed out other Trump victories for anti-abortion advocates:

Trump reinstated the largely popular Mexico City policy, which denies U.S. aid money to any international group that funds or promotes abortion. But he took the policy a step further, expanding it to cover nearly all U.S. foreign health spending, not just family-planning funds. The administration also moved to defund the United Nations Population Fund on similar grounds.

But others believe it's disingenuous to label President Trump as pro-life when he is constantly saber-rattling and taunting North Korea dictator Kim Jong Un with nuclear war. Trump told the United Nations he was willing to "totally destroy" North Korea and tweeted on Jan. 2 about the superiority of his "nuclear button."
