19-year-old Timothy Piazza was force-fed alcohol during a hazing ritual at Penn State fraternity; he died due to injuries from a fall. Some argue that making drinking illegal for young people has actually increased their overall consumption, and that fraternity members might have called an ambulance sooner had they not been worried about getting in trouble for drinking.

By outlawing moderate use of alcohol in appropriate social contexts and with adult oversight, we have driven more drinking underground.
