Are calls for political 'civility' total bullshit? | The Tylt
Michelle Obama famously proclaimed "when they go low, we go high," but a lot of Democrats are tired of taking the high road. Maxine Waters urged people to "push back" against Trump officials and tell them "they're not welcome anymore, anywhere." But others argue now is not the time to abandon "civility," and we truly are stronger together. Are calls for civility bullshit, or crucial?

In the crucial months ahead, we must strive to make America beautiful again. Trump’s daily lack of civility has provoked responses that are predictable but unacceptable. As we go forward, we must conduct elections in a way that achieves unity from sea to shining sea. https://t.co/vlpqOBLK4R— Nancy Pelosi (@NancyPelosi) June 25, 2018
Seriously, Trump is still holding campaign-style rallies with “lock her up” and the press is the “enemy of the people,” and name-calling and threatening political adversaries - and we’re worried #civility is being lost because #RedHen wouldn’t serve @PressSec ?— Amy Siskind (@Amy_Siskind) June 26, 2018
Congresswoman Maxine Waters, an extraordinarily low IQ person, has become, together with Nancy Pelosi, the Face of the Democrat Party. She has just called for harm to supporters, of which there are many, of the Make America Great Again movement. Be careful what you wish for Max!— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) June 25, 2018
