Should Betsy DeVos step down? | The Tylt
After Education Secretary Betsy DeVos had difficulty answering basic questions about schools in a "60 Minutes" interview, many are calling on her to step down. The controversial cabinet member has been criticized since her confirmation hearing, where she also failed to demonstrate an understanding of public education. But others have defended DeVos, arguing she is an avid defender of school choice who is being unfairly targeted by liberals. What do you think?
Should Betsy DeVos step down?
It’s almost as if hiring Betsy DeVos, who had no prior experience working in the school system, was a bad idea— Roland Scahill (@rolandscahill) March 12, 2018
She is honestly one of the most stupid people on the planet and she's in charge of America's schools.— Michael Kell (@jmichaelkell) March 12, 2018
I’m going to pretend to be a liberal for a second and point out how sexist all the Florida students are who walked out on Betsy DeVos when she visited their school.— Collin Rugg (@CollinRugg) March 7, 2018
So sexist, misogynistic and hateful. Sad!
She's right. The $ should follow the student, not be wasted on schools that are constantly failing. Let's face it, the interview of Betsy DeVos was highly edited by CBS tilted towards their liberal bias of throwing $ at failing schools. https://t.co/mZ6Jvvs6um— Republicus (@Taxfree1031) March 12, 2018
Come up to Michigan and we will show you how much Betsy DeVos and family have INVESTED in education; public, private, charter, homeschool, and at the collegiate level. David is spouting liberal talking points, NOT actual facts.— Kristine Ann (@krepd) March 12, 2018
