Who has the best campaign branding: Kamala Harris or Elizabeth Warren?
Kamala Harris' campaign has opted for a throwback palate—burnt orange, butter yellow and bright purple. The yellow is reminiscent of the colors chosen by Shirley Chisholm, who made history in 1972 as the first African American to run for a major party's nomination for president. Harris' purple and orange are striking deviations from the typical red, white and blue, setting her apart as a new kind of candidate, with an eye towards both the future and a respect for the past.
Elizabeth Warren's campaign has chosen a much cooler palate, accenting a calming navy blue backdrop with pops of mint green and orangey-red. The deep navy allows for a neutral backdrop on which the campaign can lay out Warren's platforms and campaign promises. The eye-catching red adds for some much needed warmth while the minty green is just similar enough to Hillary Clinton's campaign colors to pull Warren in as part of the continuing legacy of strong, smart Congressional women running for office.
