Law enforcement officials confirmed the Las Vegas shooter used 23 firearms to carry out his deadly attack on country music festival goers, at least a dozen of which were semiautomatic rifles "legally modified to fire like automatic weapons."
One of the two images of rifles published by the station show an AR-15 type rifle with a bump or slide fire modification... Those components used together in a weapon suggest a desire to shoot large amounts of automatic-like fire into masses of people without much concern for accuracy, as the recoil from simulated automatic fire would make it difficult to hit specific targets at a long range. The stage was between 400 and 500 yards from the hotel.
This discovery has reopened the debate on an assault rifle ban. The ban would bar civilians from owning certain type of semi-automatic weapons and large capacity magazines.
People are really stupid enough to believe that a ban on assault rifles is gonna stop events like what happened in Vegas... if someone really has the hate in their heart to commit a mass murder they are going to do it... assault rifle or not 🤦🏼♂️
