A new Associated Press poll found 62 percent of Americans think we're headed in the wrong direction. But respondents' views depended largely on party affiliation—67 percent of Republicans say the U.S. is on the right track. The majority of Americans are not happy about the direction we are heading in.

But Trump supporters point to deregulation, tax cuts and corporate investments as indicators that the country is actually on the right track.

But many on the left point to increasing hate crimes and racist violence; attacks on freedom of the press; and the gutting of countless environmental protections as evidence we are on the worst of tracks possible.

Others felt the country was going the wrong way under Obama, and are relieved to have Trump and conservatives at the wheel.
