Should we stop watching Woody Allen movies?

Woody Allen's new movie reportedly depicts the sexual escapades of a 44-year-old man with much younger women. Allen has made some eyebrow-raising comments on the Harvey Weinstein sexual assault scandal, and he's also had his own sexual abuse accusations in his past. Some argue his films must be boycotted (or that they sucked anyway). Others defend Allen, or say you can't mistake the artist for the art. You can hate Woody and still love "Annie Hall." What do you think? 📽️ ⚖️

The hero, according to the script, “makes a fool of himself over every ambitious starlet and model.” And it's hardly the first time Allen has celebrated man-girl love. The critically acclaimed "Manhattan" depicted Allen having an affair with a 17-year-old high school girl (Margot Hemingway).

Even if you love Allen's films, or don't think it's skeevy that he married a woman he raised as a daughter, you have to admit he's always celebrated the dirty old man.

Others say his conduct may be questionable, but he's still one of America's greatest filmmakers.

He's actually made this movie type so many times it's predictable, boring and egregious. His critics say it's time to stop tolerating his actual flaunting of his young-girl fetish, it's just gross and wrong.

Sounds like almost every other Allen movie ever made. Can’t wait!

The director still has loyal fans who believe he's done nothing wrong.

Allen is the most Oscar-nominated screenwriter of all time. Some argue putting his entire catalog in the trash based on his personal life makes no sense. Do we evaluate the personal conduct of every artist whose music we buy, books we read or whose art we enjoy?
