Who should play Disney's Mulan: Fan Bingbing or Brenda Song?
Here's the synopsis of the animated "Mulan," released in 1998, according to the IMDB:
To save her father from death in the army, a young maiden secretly goes in his place and becomes one of China's greatest heroines in the process.
"Mulan" fans have been advocating for their individual picks for awhile now. Several high-profile Asian actresses have been tossed around. Jamie Chung is one popular choice; she has played Mulan on the hit ABC fantasy drama "Once Upon a Time." But Chung is Korean-American, not Chinese or Chinese-American.
And most fans want an actress of Chinese descent to play Mulan, because Mulan is Chinese! But two distinctly Chinese actresses have appeared on many fan casting lists—Bingbing and Song. Fans have laid out persuasive cases for both actresses.

Bingbing is an acclaimed and popular actress in Asia, but most American audiences know her from "X-Men: Days of Future Past" as the mutant teleporter Blink. She played a key part in the X-Men's survival in the film's dystopian future.

Song kicked so much butt in "Wendy Wu: Homecoming Warrior," and has grown from Disney child star to popular actress. Song has the screen appeal that audiences want for Mulan. She would totally pull of Mulan's strength, independence and rebellious streak. Fans argue Song would be perfect for the role of Mulan!
