Jimmy Fallon is good, but only as good as the crew around him. He just doesn't have the same leadership as Jay Leno. Jimmy has the ratings lead right now, but Colbert is gaining on him. Will Jimmy be able to hold it together? Let's hope this doesn't turn into one "SNL" skit that lasts way too long.
Stephen Colbert is talented AF. He can do impressions, sing and improv. His comedic timing is flawless and he is down to get crazy. Check this scene where he ends up in a Segway jousting match with Tobey Maguire, or Elijah Wood or whoever the hell that is.
Jimmy Fallon has an infectious laugh. He's the embodiment of that funny guy who you like to catch up with because nothing needs to be taken that seriously. Sure, he's a bit more family friendly, but he's not a prude—just check out this back and forth with the always dirty Ricky Gervais.
Pshhhh, obviously you don't get the joke. We know Fallon is a bit of a nerd, that's what makes him approachable and a great host. Folks like J.T. genuinely like the guy and the chance to goof off. That's why his interviews are a blast to watch.
Colbert has eight, count em, Emmys for his work on "The Colbert Report."
None for "The Late Show" yet, but give the guy a few years. He'll turn it around!
Here's a history on the bad blood between "The Late Show" and "The Tonight Show."
