We're almost at the end of movie awards season, and 2016 was one hell of a year for motion pictures. But before the season passes us by—the Tylt is facing off eight of the nine praised films nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars! It's round two—which film should the Academy honor as Best Picture on Sunday night, Feb. 26?
"Moonlight" crushed "Manchester by the Sea" in the first round of our bracket, while "Fences" won over tearjerker "Lion."
Now it's "Moonlight" versus "Fences."
"Moonlight" might upset "La La Land" at the Oscars. The film is also lauded by critics and audiences really want to see it win. The critical darling has also been racking up tons of awards—including the Golden Globe for Best Picture — Drama.
"Fences" is a Pulitzer and Tony Award-winning play. The piece of work is lauded. And it's no secret that the Oscar love awarding stage adaptations.
