"Lethal Weapon" came out 30 years ago, and with three acclaimed sequels, the buddy cop action franchise has made $955.2 million. A veteran policeman, Murtaugh, is partnered with a younger, suicidal officer, Riggs. They both have one thing in common: hating working in pairs. Now they must learn to work with one another to stop a gang of drug smugglers.

"Lethal Weapon" series managed to remain a successful franchise for more than a decade. It's no easy feat to remain relevant, garner critical praise movie after movie and a huge box office draw for so long. And it's all thanks to the chemistry of actors Danny Glover and Mel Gibson.
