Most badass action-horror heroine: Selene or Alice?

The "Underworld" and "Resident Evil" franchises both feature badass action-horror heroines. Milla Jovovich played Alice in the "Resident Evil" series—she fights to take down her former corporate employer that caused the zombie apocalypse. Which ass-kicking female lead is the baddest? 👊

There's nothing like a kick-ass female lead. And in the last decade, Selene from the "Underworld" series and Alice from the "Resident Evil" series have taken the action-horror genre to the next level.

"Underworld: Blood Wars" hit theaters on Jan. 7, 2017. In the sequel, Selene is now trying to end a war between the vampires and the Lycans. The movie is loved by fans, although hated by critics. Regardless, many publications list Selene as one of the top ass-kicking heroines. She's slayed over the course of an entire series, and is featured as the main protagonist in every movie except the prequel "Rise of the Lycans," which used archival footage of her character. Selene is Beckinsale's most iconic role, and although Ripley from the "Aliens" franchise paved the way, Selene's ability to kick Lycan butt has taken the hybrid action-horror genre to the next level.

"Resident Evil: The Final Chapter" was released on Jan. 27, 2017. And in the sixth installment, Alice still looks as badass as ever! Jovovich might be retiring her iconic role as Alice, a former security operative who fights against her ex-employer, the Umbrella Cooperation, that caused the Zombie Apocalypse, but in the final chapter, she's the only survivor following the events of "Retribution." She returns to where it all began—the Hive in Raccoon City. The Umbrella Corporation is planning one last strike against the remaining survivors of the Zombie apocalypse. But the survivors have Alice on their side. Like Beckinsale, Jovovich has cemented herself as one of pop culture's most memorable female heroines. But it's time to settle if Alice is more kick-ass than Selene, once and for all. If anything is for sure, Alice has kicked ass in more successful films than Selene.
