Follows a unique ensemble, as their paths cross and their life stories interwine, from sharing the same birthday, to so much more than anyone would expect.
Multi-generational family drama "This Is Us" broke records with increased ratings every week and has been making social media users cry their hearts out since the show's premiere. According to Variety, NBC entertainment chair Bob Greenblatt has already greenlit two more seasons:
We thought, ‘People love the show. Let’s just give them more of what they want.
"This Is Us" creator creator-showrunner Dan Fogelman said:
We don’t say, ‘Oh, we directed it so well,’ or, ‘Oh, what a well-written episode of television. The one thing we always say is, ‘Wow, we cast the hell out of this show.’
"This Is Us" is winning hearts, and has no plans to slow down as a record-breaking tearjerker.
The lives and tragedies of the Braverman family tree.
"Parenthood" came first and really helped cement the multi-generational family comedy-drama formula. "This Is Us" is a clear replacement, but "Parenthood" will eventually be revived.
According to TV Line, "Parenthood" creator Jason Katims said.
It would start at the moment when I feel like I have a story to tell. But the whole thing about Parenthood is the kids get a little older and their lives change and then there’s more story to tell. I feel like that will happen at some point. And then it will be a question of, logistically, can we get the actors [back together] at the same time? And then we have to [find an outlet] that wants to [air] it.
Fans still love this show and would love to see what's going on with the Braverman family tree. "This Is Us" wouldn't exist without "Parenthood" paving the way.
