Ultimate '10s superhero show: 'The Tick' or 'Daredevil'?

Superhero TV shows have come a long, long way since the well-intentioned but generally cornball shows of earlier decades. Bigger budgets, better special effects, improved fight coordination and a greater respect for source material have all helped make the last ten years a golden age of comic book TV. We’re facing off the best-loved superhero shows of the decade. In the finals, we have Amazon Prime's "The Tick" about a strangely blue strongman and Marvel's brutal "Daredevil." Which do you love most?

In the final round, we have "The Tick," which is about a strange strongman in a blue tick suit versus "Daredevil," which chronicled the crimefighting life of a blind, but brutal martial arts vigilante of Hell's Kitchen (who other senses are enhanced).

While The CW (DC) and Netflix (Marvel) dominated the superhero show genre throughout the '10s, Amazon Prime's "The Tick" pilot premiered in 2016. "The Tick" follows the big, weird strongman in a blue Tick suit and his buddy Arthur as they battle a reemerged supervillain The Terror. The show has been a campy, clever, adventurous and hilarious trip ever since then. While the series was canceled after two seasons, "The Tick" holds a fresh rating of 95 percent, an audience score of 89 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication) and a fanbase for breathing new life into the franchise.

“Daredevil” marked Netflix’s debut in the comic adaptation realm, and many fans feel it has yet to be topped. The fight sequences, often reminiscent of Hong Kong action films, are among the best ever filmed. More than action alone, "Daredevil" shows the inner struggles and crises of faith deep within Matt Murdock (Charlie Cox), the blind lawyer turned hero of Hell’s Kitchen. In some ways, Daredevil is just as much the story of the villainous Kingpin, played superbly by Vincent D’Onofrio, who evokes both sympathy and revulsion in turn. "The Tick" holds a fresh rating of 92 percent and an audience score of 92 percent on Rotten Tomatoes (at the time of publication).
